On a clear day, you can see the mountains of four states and Canada At the summit, you'll find spectacular scenic walking paths, a 360 degree observation deck, a cafe and restrooms. According to O'Sullivan, the trams could become useful last-mile solutions connecting Paris's residents and its other forms of transit. New Hampshire's only Aerial Tramway and North America's first A cable car brings visitors to the 4,080-foot summit of Cannon Mountain in under ten minutes. The city has tentative plans for five additional aerial trams in the Greater Paris region. "The gondola has faced resistance from locals near its planned path, who fear that their privacy will be compromised by gondola-borne passengers peering down into their yards and windows, and their peace disturbed by noise and light." A proposed solution would obscur the tram's windows when passing near homes. That should keep the project’s cost at 132 million euros ($149 million)." The all-electric conveyance will also help reduce carbon emissions and, officials hope, reduce the need for private cars. "The gondola, by contrast, can sail above these obstacles, and its land needs are minimal: Beyond station sites, an aerial tramway just requires space for the pillars supporting the cables. The gondola, known as Cable A, cleared pre-construction feasibility studies last week and is expected to cost less and be less disruptive than land-based rail projects, which "would require extensive engineering in the form of bridges and tunnels" to navigate the area's complex web of hills, highways, and existing rail lines. They also need to advertise the pricing better on the website, because it was almost impossible for us to figure out how much it cost before we got there. As Feargus O'Sullivan reports, the French capital could soon begin construction on the city's first aerial tramway, a 2.8-mile line serving five stations between Paris's southeastern suburbs and the terminus of Metro like 8. We loved the experience and would definitely do it again, but I wish they would either lower the price or create more ticket options. We didn't have time to spend all day there, but even if we did, our kids would have lost interest pretty quickly if we had stayed any longer than we did. My main feedback would be that the price is too expensive, or there should be an option to just get one trip up and back on the tram, instead of an unlimited all-day pass that includes the other gondolas. We enjoyed having the other Gondola to ourselves, but we didnt have time to hang out at the top of that one. We spent about an hour up at the top of that mountain, and then took one of the other gondolas up and back after that since you had it included in the price. There is a fee to park your car at the tram station. The address for the tram is: 1 Tram Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262. The tram station is about 15 minutes west of downtown Palm Springs off the main road. We got waffles at the top and we all got different ones - they were all amazing. The journey starts at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway base station, where you take the tram 5873ft up to Mountain Station, the start of the hike. I know this wouldn't be a quick fix, but if they could put more seating on the tram to make it more of a scenic experience for everyone, that would be ideal, considering how expensive it is. We had to stand in the middle on the way down on a package tram, so we hardly saw anything. To put into perspective how high it climbs, from the bottom waiting area, what looks like the top of the mountain is actually the halfway point - and going through that halfway point and looking up to see an engineer making sure everything was working safely perched on top of the tower above you was pretty crazy! The ride took about 10 minutes each way, so you definitely have a good amount of time to enjoy it - however I will say, we got lucky on the way up being the first ones on and therefore we got to sit on one of the few benches and take in the views. This aerial tram was insanely impressive in terms of how high it climbed - and how safe it felt! You cannot beat the views on the way up, or from the top.
